What We Offer
Short or long term access to Containment Level 3 facilities
Companies can lease category 3 space and services on a needs basis through our many flexible options, including cost for space lease options (£/sq ft) with variations in relation to the lease length. Options are also available in terms of access per person per unit time, varying in unit price in relation to the number of people and utilisation time. Please contact us to enquire about lease rates.
Services and contract facility:
Bio 3 can be contracted to conduct short term R&D on behalf of your company. If you are unable to release trained staff from other duties for short term projects, this option will negate the personnel related issues and will be a highly responsive option in terms of time and expertise. Bio3 can also provide category 3 microbial manipulation services to generate specific components/products, for example extracts from microbes (such as DNA or proteins). Category 3 training programmes
The operation and use of Category 3 facilities requires significant training and any new staff using the Bio3 facility will be required to undergo a training programme. The large scale of the Bio3 facility, the skill of the staff and the existence of the Science Training Centre, a commercial centre owned by the School of Life Sciences at University of Hertfordshire, allows Bio3 to offer Category 3 training to individuals or organisations. Microbiological testing facilities
Bio3 offer a cost effective service for testing of category 3 pathogens. Bio3 have experience in developing testing services for Mycobacterium tuberculosis and plan to offer a rapid testing service. We recognise that there is a growing need for such test facilities in the UK with increasing infection rates of such pathogens. Risk Management
A major benefit of using Bio3 is that it takes management and overall responsibility for safety out of the hands of companies and into a central administrative team and experienced Category 3 technical operators running the facility. The HSE look favourably on this approach and it is the intention of Bio3 to gain official accreditation for new methodologies. Please contact us for more information.
